THE Atlanta Dream have fired head coach Tanisha Wright.
Despite making a WNBA playoff appearance this season, the Atlanta Dream announced the firing of Wright on Wednesday.

Wright spent three years as the head coach of the Dream and her team limped into the playoffs this year.
They made it into the postseason despite finishing the 2024 season 15-25.
The Dream didn’t last long in the postseason, as they were swept by the New York Liberty in the best-of-three opening round of the playoffs.
In Wright’s three years with the Dream, the team didn’t have a winning record once. The team played to a 48-68 record in her three years.
“The Atlanta Dream have made the difficult decision to part ways with head coach Tanisha Wright,” the team said in a statement.
“Tanisha was an important contributor in our efforts to rebuild the Dream, and we want to thank her for her hard work and dedication to the Dream over the last three seasons and wish her the best in the future.
“At this time, we believe a change in needed to lead our players and organization to the next chapter in our effort to be a top team in the WNBA.”
Fans had mixed opinions on the firing and shared their thoughts on social media.
“Tanisha did a good job for what they had,” one fan said.
“Booo u guys need better players!” another fan said.
“No!!!! I love Coach Tanisha. Maybe she can come to the Chicago Sky,” a third fan said.
“I agree with this move,” a fourth fan said.
“Seen this coming a mile away,” a fifth fan said.
The Dream have a big offseason ahead of them with multiple players leaving and no first round pick.
Veterans Cheyenne Parker-Tyus, Aerial Powers, Tina Charles, Lorela Cubaj, and Maya Caldwell are all free agents this offseason.

The Dream have a second and third-round pick, but they traded away their first-round pick for guard Allisha Gray.
Atlanta is now one of three teams in the WNBA to be on the hunt for a new head coach.
The Los Angeles Sparks and the Chicago Sky both fired their head coaches after missing the playoffs.
The season is nearly over, and the WNBA playoffs are almost in the finals.
Currently the Liberty hold a 2-0 lead over the Las Vegas Aces in the semifinal while the Minnesota Lynx and Connecticut Sun are tied at 1-1.
