AN ICONIC deli with 550 locations has abruptly shut a store just months after opening.
Fans have been left shocked after finding out about the closure through a sign that was left on the door.
McAlister’s Deli Restaurant and Sandwich Shop in Warrington, Pennsylvania, has closed its doors just months after opening.
The lights are off, the doors are shut, and the sign on the door simply reads: “Sorry, we are currently closed.”
It is not clear why the store closed so soon after opening earlier this year.
The Georgia-based restaurant chain is known for its large deli sandwiches, spuds, soups and sweet tea.
One poster on website Patch said the building’s owner Goodman Properties still lists the deli as the tenant.
It comes after McAlister’s Deli closed down another store at the Arboretum Shopping Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The chain has more than 500 locations across 29 states.
The chain has 107 stores in Texas, 46 in Indiana, 40 in Mississippi, and 39 in Tennessee.
A new McAlister’s Deli is set to open later this year in Holland, Michigan – located around 30 miles from Grand Rapids.
The store will be moving into a premises that was once a Steak n Shake burger joint, per The Holland Sentinel.
The Steak n Shake restaurant closed in 2019 and the building was empty for years.
McAlister’s Deli currently has eight restaurants in Michigan.
The chain is also set to open another new store at the Fort Bend Town Center II in Missouri City, Texas this year, per Community Impact.
And, it opened a new location in Terrell on November 17.
